THE REDDENING refers to the alchemical stage Rubedo, the fourth and final stage in the magnum opus.  

I didn't personally begin a study of alchemy til my third book, Mercury, but it's my sense that a basic acquaintance with its four main stages, Nigredo, Albedo, Citrinitas-- and Rubedo-- is essential for artists in this time.

"No cures, only alchemy," says my friend Bett Williams.

I believe we spiral through all of the alchemical phases again and again in our spiritual development, and it's my experience that the breadth and depth of artistry also evolves this way.

THE REDDENING consists of four live calls, each on a New Moon, each focused on a different alchemical stage and tuned precisely to the psychospiritual moment.

Our work culminates with an optional 10-day intensive on Krysztof Kieślowski's DEKALOG, encompassing the Winter Solstice, December 15-24.

Why Kieślowski's DEKALOG?  Because it is a 10-part made-for-TV series based on (but never merely illustrative of) the Ten Commandments.  Because it is an overwhelmingly emotional work of art.  Because it's a work of art that was made for everyone in a society at a particular inflection point of collapse.  Because it is what Kafka said, in 1904, that a book should be:

"the axe for the frozen sea inside us."

That is what The Reddening is.  An opportunity to tune your biology and your consciousness to the moon.  An opportunity to reunite the blood flowing through your veins to the convictions in your heart, and to yearnings and ambitions you don't yet know how to name.
