Crystals of Vitamin B3 were grown by evaporation on a microscope slide, then photographed through a microscope. Vitamin B3, also known as niacinamide, works to prevent water loss and retain skin's moisture content, helping smooth out skin's texture. The crystal facets create the colors by refraction of the transmitted light.
