AROMA

Dark brambly fruit, wild blackberries and mulberries combine with earthy toasted spice, violet floral and hints of anise.

PALATE

Full bodied with flavours of dark & blue fruits, a touch of tarriness & warm spices. The wine has good length of fruit flavour & fine supporting tannins. VINEYARD Sourced from 2 sites in close proximity. One with red clay over limestone providing richness and intensity. The other at the base of the hillside on sandy loam over limestone providing freshness & elegance to the wine.

SEASON

The 2022 season started with cooler than average conditions, but fortunately these cooler temperatures didn’t bring any spring frost. Mild & dry conditions continued through out summer with low disease pressure. A burst of warm weather in late January helped push fruit ripening along. Harvest was generally later than average, but ripening was even & quality is very good across all varieties.

WINEMAKERS NOTES

The fruit was fermented on skins for 8 days before being pressed & transferred to barrel for 18 months maturation.100% French oak barrels used of which 15% were first use.
