The only way to obtain this exclusive limited edition Spanish Oak Yamazaki is to travel to Japan, go the Yamazaki distillery and have booked a tour to even enter the distillery grounds to obtain one. Without this there is no way to obtain this aside from the handful that may appear online.

This has been tried by us at Whisky Situation and it is even better than the Kogei collection. At £199 it sits at £33 per dram which less expensive than a lot of London bars and with better quality liquid.

As detailed on the bottle, this single malt whisky contains only carefully selected smoky whiskies aged in Spanish Oak casks from among the variety of distinctive Yamazaki Distillery malt whiskies. As well as the depth typical of Yamazaki Malt, it has a rich, fruity, spicy, bitter and softly smoky noses to be enjoyed. In order to enjoy the flavours of this whisky, they used a non chill filtered manufacturing method.

About Yamazaki

The Yamazaki Distillery, established in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii as Japan's first malt whisky distillery, is the birthplace of Japanese whisky, a result of Torii's vision to create a unique whisky using a Japanese climate and pure water sources. After sending Masataka Taketsuru to learn from Scottish whisky masters, Yamazaki began production in 1924, laying the foundation for Suntory's now world-famous Japanese whiskies. The distillery's success was cemented by international acclaim, including Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013 winning World Whisky of the Year, bringing global recognition to Japanese whisky.
