SSI - 7th Ranger Battalion - Ranger Diamond - WWII X 300 Classic License Plate
The Ranger Diamond patch was a distinctive insignia worn by the 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalions during World War II. It was approved for wear on 26 July 1943 and was carried with them to the European Theater for the 6 June 1944 invasion of Normandy. However, later in the war, both battalions abandoned the diamond in favor of unofficial scrolls. The pattern insignia that was later adopted by the 75th Infantry Regiment on 26 July 1984 is the one that is commonly associated with the Ranger Battalion today.
