This is a rare, documented book piece that appears in the book "The Art of Zandra Rhodes" from the collection inspired by her trip to Mexico this piece is entitled "Mexican Fan" I that book she says that the "'Mexican Fan' print was an explosive version of the 'Mexican Sombrero' embroidery developed into two fan shapes across the width of the fabric." This is also the collection where she started dying beads to match the fabrics giving the fabrics an additional dimension. You can see that use of bead work here with the circular detailing at the front with a myriad of shapes and colored paillettes used to highlight the design. It can be layered over other pieces as an evening topper and is a valuable and rare piece that is well documented. Excellent. appears unworn condition.
